Set within Khao Yai’s most renowned golf community, the Luxury Bamboo & Earth Mountain Residence merges organic architecture, natural materials and modern lifestyle into a peaceful living experience that invites reconnecting with nature.
The project is defined by a sweeping, undulating bamboo roof that rises and dips like the natural topography. Supported by expressive bamboo arches, the roof hovers lightly above grounded earth brick volumes, creating a deliberate dialogue between lightness and solidity. The curved geometry extends across the main residence, guest house, and tea pavilion, establishing a cohesive architectural language that appears to grow from the sloped, tree-lined site. An open terrace and circular infinity pool extend the living room into the open space, reinforcing the project’s sculptural identity.
Functionally, the entrance leads to a circular open-sky courtyard that enhances cross-ventilation, moderates the microclimate, and draws natural light deep into the interior. Here the path bifurcates, one path leading to the private quarters, the other to the living and dining areas which open fully toward panoramic mountain views. The private quarters consist of two bedroom units, an office and a meditation room. Further down the property a separate building elevated over a pond provides two independent guest units, and a dedicated tea pavilion for reflection as well as a community space for all to gather without disturbing privacy.
The material choices further reinforce performance: bamboo offers regenerative structural strength, while adobe walls provide thermal mass and energy efficiency. Both materials leave no carbon footprint.
The impact is a residence that combines modern luxury lifestyle with sustainability and craftsmanship. By integrating renewable materials, passive environmental strategies, and immersive spatial design, the project fosters slow living and sensory connection to nature. Contemporary yet timeless, it redefines sustainable elegance within a prestigious mountain setting.
