Located in the countryside of São Paulo, LR Residence was designed as a vacation home, intended to welcome friends and family in a cozy environment. Thus, stone, wood, brick, and aluminium were carefully chosen to give identity to the residence.
Set on a single level, the house unfolds through a contrast with the topography. The sloping terrain was transformed, creating an extensive plateau, raising the volume of the bedrooms and social area, ensuring a continuous view of the surrounding landscape.
The residence includes a private area with five suites, a spacious social area, and a space dedicated to staff. The social area is notable for the entrance hall, where a reflecting pool and an upper slit create dynamics of light and reflections that lead the eye to a generous living area that integrates with the gourmet area and balconies.
Inside, the social areas are covered with rustic brick, contrasting with the granite floor. The neutral and earthy tones of the interior finishes and furnishings harmonize and resonate with the identity of the residence.
The indoor social area connects to two distinct outdoor spaces: a welcoming central courtyard and a balcony that offers views of the landscape. An infinity-edge pool, spa, and fireplace are covered with the same granite as the indoor areas, unifying spaces and providing a gathering environment surrounded by the natural landscape.
Finally, metal brise-soleils provide privacy and comfort to the private areas, composed of five generous suites for the couple and their guests. At times fixed and other times pivoting, the metal panels streamline the rectangular volume in a minimalist fashion when closed. When open, the panels create movement within the block, as well as allowing the integration of the balconies, revealing the surrounding landscape.
