Located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on the Pacific Coast, The Treehouse and Jungle Suites were designed to provide a unique guest experience where the user could retreat into nature, and have all of the services that a luxury guestroom demands.
The process began with the documentation of an existing 10 foot diameter fig tree, where each branch was taken into account, to ensure the tree would remain intact throughout the project.
The structure was built using reinforced concrete. The decks and railings are made of locally sourced wood and driftwood, collected from nearby beaches and mountains. The stones and pebbles used in the bathrooms and pools were sourced from a nearby river bed.
The purpose of the project was to create a haven among the trees, plants, rocks, and to celebrate the views of the Pacific Ocean. The owner believed that by the suite “hugging” the wise, century old strangler fig tree, the guests can recharge their bodies with the energy that emanates from this magnificent tree…
