On September 5th 2008 the 1708 Gallery in
Richmond, Va. hosted a juried outdoor art
show of light installations on a section of Broad
Street. The Light House_1_Jackson Ward was a
Spatial Affairs Bureau project that was temporarily installed
in an empty lot between two storefronts. The
project aimed to make a line drawing into a 3-d
sculpture that could be experienced and walked
through. The project used steel frames painted
in iridescent paint that were illuminated with UV
lights. The installation referred t o a typical house
from the context of the site. The project was installed again oin 2010.
