Located on Boulevard Netwiller on the north-eastern side of the square, the project is fitted within a strip whose non-continuous front face is conceived like a dotted line on the ground. A series of architectural elements marking openings and passages establishes a rhythm of solids and voids which both facilitate the transverse movements of pedestrians and open up visual perspectives.By uniting the contemporary commercial architecture and its external elements on the Place Nord into a single composition through the introduction of an element which makes such a clear contribution to the form of the square, the project seeks to underline the importance of the three pavilions in the search to breathe life into this new centrality. In reality, the three kiosks are organised as an ensemble, establishing a synergy which is beneficial to both the commercial dynamic and the everyday life of the district.In contrast with the design of the buildings surrounding the square, the kiosks are defined by the architectural lightness of the materials with which they are built: structure and cladding using timber slats, transparent glass façades and solar protection from a veil of perforated metal sheet. Placed rather than built, the square welcomes these buildings as a lightweight architectural event which minimises all interference with the heavy engineering works of the metro.
