The project for the improvement of the embankment along Gorky Street in Yekaterinburg is an attempt to transform an unsuccessful architectural and construction solution by the developer for the construction of an underground parking lot in the embankment area into a new attractive and modern element of the urban environment. The project's idea is to connect the two levels of the embankment and create a new public space with additional functions integrated into a modern landscape architectural solution.
We needed to find a landscaping solution in which the wall of the concrete underground parking lot, facing the embankment, could become an attractive element of the improvement.
The new modern architectural and design solution allowed us to connect the upper and lower levels of the embankment and at the same time provide comfortable movement for pedestrians, cyclists, and people with limited mobility.
