In Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, the Montérégie Server Laboratory translates the demands of a highly specialized biomedical program into a compact, monolithic architecture. Built within an industrial landscape shaped by highways, logistics and open horizons, the project is the first off-site medical laboratory completed in Quebec under the Optilab program. Its siting, spatial organization and architectural language all emerge from the same logic of flow, containment and precision.
Superimposed monolithic volumes, slightly offset to create a subtle sense of movement, give the building a strong and restrained presence. Inside, natural light, visual openings and clear circulation bring clarity and comfort to a highly technical workplace. The project’s environmental performance grows from this same architectural discipline, where compactness, durability and reduction are treated as integral design principles.
