The project develops the renovation of an apartment of a building of the early '900, in the center of Turin.
The surface is about 160 square meters, and the height of the ceilings reaches almost 4 meters heigh. Large windows outwards illuminate the interior of the apartment from the north and west.
The concept of open-space has guided the design choices and directed the distribution choices. Initially, the flat was divided into 9 different environments, obviously rather small in size, including narrow and dark corridors towards the inner part of the property.
Currently environments are only three, each measuring an area of about 50 square meters, more than a small bathroom for guests.
All non-structural elements have been felled to create three large rooms in sequence, in which they have found place all the necessary functions for a luxury apartment. The sequence of the environment begins with the living area, characterized by two levels of the floor, one for entry and passage, the highest devoted to conversation area.
At the entrance, the back of the sofa composition of more than 5.2 meters long, is hidden by a low bookcase, exactly long as the sofas.
This library is characterized by 6 withdrawable trucks that hold books on the front, and, thanks to special trolleys, which make them removable, allow you to store on the back, books or objects to be hidden from view. From this environment will continue to the second, the middle, through two steps characterized by wonderful doors vintage restored.
In the central square plan, are placed a large wall consisting of cabinets lined with brown fabric, a central island for the kitchen, complete with hood and tap retractable, more than a second block of furniture placed at the back of the island, which accommodates the fridge, ovens, pantry, closets and laundry. A particular solution designed and adopted for the kitchen island, allows thanks to a sliding glass top, if necessary to hide the stove, sink and faucet, or to extract it using the top as a table for breakfast or a quick meal.
The table in the dining room specially designed complete the features of this environment.
Crossing the wall cabinets you have access to the toilet for guests or the third and last room, the bedroom.
This environment is also of square plan and surface similar to the previous environments.
This environment is characterized by a subdivision of the floor on two different levels. On the lower level is placed the bed while on the higher, the desk and the main bathroom.
The bathroom developed in length, is characterized by a completely transparent overlooking that allows natural light to reach the most hidden parts of the apartment. Even in this environment, the walls on the sides of the bed are hidden behind cabinets lined with brown fabric.
The particular crystal adopted for the bathroom wall, allows the natural light penetration hiding the middle of the body, thus ensuring a minimum of privacy within the environment.
