La Chiave House is the Private Residence with the concept of space and the relationship between them. Considering the Natural Privacy and Atmosphere of space, how it related to the users including the visual perception with blocking form and open void space in each area of the house. The shape and form of this house come from the basic geometry like 2 rectangular block and 1 cylinder, when fit to the site area, it make the cylinder as the center unique space and create transition area between 2 block which interlock to each other.
The Space design of this house is the space zoning which contain 3 parts. Firstly, public zone for welcoming guests which is living space, pantry and open space for doing activities. Second is private zone which located at the back and separate from the welcoming area at the front, this area will consists of 2 bedrooms at the 1st floor and master bedroom on the 2nd floor. These two zone will have common transition area which are the circle space and semi-cylinder at the center to connect the private and public zone together.
The visual perception is another significant role in the key design, we control the visual direction of the user per each space and limit the visual direction through the form and void of the block from outside to keep privacy for the owner of the house. For examples, the front block on the upper part at the front which is face the entrance and road, we use angle of the form panel to adjust direction of the void to make visual contact not direct to the house and use ventilation concrete block as façade for another layer cover the balcony.
The color tone choose to be white and black to emphasize the contrast in design like the geometry form which is rectangular interlock with cylinder form. Even though it look contrast in color but it give the harmony and feeling of clean look and minimal at the same time.
