COOOP undertakes the design and construction supervision of the Kohat Tunnel and approach roads, a transformative infrastructure project located in KPK, Pakistan. With a budget of PKR 5.59 billion and commissioned by the National Highway Authority, this initiative addresses the significant transportation challenge posed by the Indus Highway's ascent over a hill range, reaching a height of 900 meters. Currently, the distance between Peshawar and Kohat via the existing hill route spans nearly 65 kilometers. The proposed tunnel, stretching 1.885 kilometers, promises to drastically reduce travel time and enhance connectivity between the two towns.
COOOP's comprehensive services encompass design review, construction supervision, and rigorous quality control measures, ensuring the successful implementation of the project. The design of the tunnel and approach roads prioritizes safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. By integrating advanced engineering solutions and adhering to Design for Behavior principles, COOOP creates infrastructure that not only meets functional requirements but also fosters safe and sustainable transportation practices.
Furthermore, the Kohat Tunnel project represents a significant investment in regional development, unlocking new economic opportunities and improving the quality of life for communities along the route. As COOOP continues to oversee the project's progress, the Kohat Tunnel and approach roads stand as a testament to the organization's commitment to pioneering infrastructure solutions that drive progress and positively impact society.
