With the theme of Green Ice Peaks, this project integrates the ice and snow temperament of Harbin Institute of Technology with the ecological foundation of Shenzhen, and systematically constructs a green and low-carbon scientific research environment within a complex cluster of laboratories.
01 Integration with Terrain and Ecology
The podium at the base adopts a tiered setback form to blend into the mountain, gently introducing the site’s ecology into the building’s inner courtyard. The west volume features a staggered profile, presenting a growth posture like “climbing vines”, which weaves the building into the mountain landscape to the south and preserves the original landform and vegetation to the greatest extent.
02 Three-Dimensional Ecological System
Responding to the site’s terrain of high south and low north, Level B1 is directly open to the exterior, forming an elevated three-dimensional shared system at the base that 延续 the multi-dimensional mountain landscape. The aerial shared floor integrates public supporting functions through north-south connecting bridges, spreading greenery upward from the ground and running through the interior and exterior of the building, significantly improving the ecological quality of the scientific research environment.
03 Green Design Led by Technical Process
Based on the technical characteristics and requirements of eight key laboratories, rational layout is carried out by avoiding adverse environmental factors and leveraging local climatic advantages in Shenzhen such as wind, daylight, heat and landscape. Special systems including process pure water system, wastewater treatment system and waste gas treatment system are added to achieve coordination between scientific research functions and environmental protection requirements.
04 Modular Assembly and Energy-Efficient Construction
The facade adopts integrated modular curtain wall assembly technology, combining enclosure, thermal insulation, sun shading, ventilation and experimental functions to improve both construction efficiency and energy-saving performance. Full-professional forward BIM design runs through the whole process, supporting the achievement of green goals through refined design.
05 Whole-Process Engineering Consulting Mode
A design-led whole-process engineering consulting model is adopted to optimize investment, schedule, quality and safety management through overall technical coordination. While ensuring the complex processes of the laboratories, it systematically promotes the construction of a green, low-carbon and high-quality scientific research park.
