The project is classified as a 5 star business hotel locate in the heart of Juba - South Sudan. The hotel accommodates 181 rooms and a royal suite with luxurious facilities in 15 storeys above the ground level and 3 storeys underground level.
The program has been recognized in a functional order. It starts with the parking lot, situated in lower basement, and conference room located on the ground floor. The first and second floors house the major hotel facilities, such as the swimming pool, gym, juice bar, breakfast area and the main hotel restaurant. The outdoor pool on the second floor provides a view towards the city for the pool users and creates an articulated view from the rooms.
The hotel’s elements (rooms and facilities) interact with a void that starts from ground level and adds natural light to the foyer on each floor.
Located on the top floor, a royal suite provides a luxurious accommodation option for those who wish to indulge.
In response to the urban forces of the site, a series of surfaces have been created to accommodate the hotel and its facilities. The result is two walls, a street scale wall and city scale wall.
Considering the exposed building location and its contribution towards urban character development; this design pushes the limits of the structure beyond its function as merely a hotel for business.
In short, it is a project open to the city, whose façade tries not to create conflicts with the environment, remaining neutral. Its volume in itself already contains the necessary power of settlement.
