he entrance approach is placed under the eaves protruding two meters to the west. Additionally, its front is lined with various types of shrubs and medium-sized trees, including silver tea tree, Shimagumi (Elaeagnus umbellata), and Russian olive.
The building structure employs the conventional post-and-beam construction method, considering construction costs and workability. By using a grid of 2,325 mm × 4,200 mm, calculated based on fixture dimensions and passageway widths, the plan ensures that columns do not obstruct customer flow or the fixture layout.
While using wood extensively in various areas, such as columns, beams, roof boards, rafters, and island-style fixtures made from plywood, we avoided creating an idyllic atmosphere by incorporating gray mortar flooring and gray wall paint in a well-balanced manner. The openings on the east and west sides are maximized to create a highly transparent and open space.
Our goal was to create a simple and comfortable commercial space by fully highlighting architectural elements such as the warmth of wood, the inorganic gray tones, and the sense of transparency, without resorting to decorative treatments.
