The Shandong Big Data Industry Base Complex, located in Jinan, China, and designed by Aleatek Studio, is an expansive project covering nearly 370,000 m². Created to serve as a national and regional leader in innovation, this complex provides a comprehensive environment that supports big data technology, research, and a variety of business functions. The complex accommodates a diverse mix of programs, including office spaces, commercial retail, a shopping mall, a bus station, data centers, an IT club, and an exhibition center. Designed with a capacity to host up to 70,000 people daily, it is a bustling hub for professionals, researchers, and the general public, blending opportunities for work, learning, and community engagement.
The architectural concept of the Jinan Big Data Industry Base is grounded in an innovative, continuous ring structure. This ring sections the towers and reconnects them at the base, creating a hovering structure that spans internal roadways. By elevating pedestrian flow above street level, the design enhances both movement and safety for users.
The Jinan Big Data Industry Base is organized through a multilayered system of interconnections, effectively managing and directing various traffic flows and functions within the complex. Starting from the direct connection to the metro station, till the helipad at the 34th floor of tower 4, this organizational approach not only enhances user experience but also allows for smooth coordination among the project’s diverse elements. The result is an architecturally sophisticated and commercially successful project that stands out for its aesthetic impact. Through its forward-thinking design, the Shandong Big Data Industry Base Complex represents a model for integrating large-scale urban functions and fostering a dynamic community space dedicated to data and technological advancement.
