THESIS:
To create compact, repeatable (prefabricated) recreational cottages with a building area not exceeding 35m², comfortably accommodating users in a 2+2 configuration.
IDEA:
The unique location of the project, situated on the outskirts of a mountain tourist village, provides both character and the greatest design challenge. The plot is located at the edge of the forest and a landscape park. It slopes steeply towards the untouched landscape, offering direct access to the stream flowing at its base, which influenced specific design solutions.
By reshaping the traditional rectangular form, a cubic shape was achieved with gable walls and a ridge diagonally aligned to the footprint. This form opens as widely as possible to the landscape while providing protection from sun exposure and ensuring the privacy of each user. Despite the dynamic shapes, the recreational development blends into the changing and harsh mountain environment.
IZERA IDENTITY:
The regionalism of the Izera area is distinguished primarily by the characteristic arrangement and detail of the gable walls of buildings. Drawing from these principles, the project systematizes the arrangement of the adjacent gable walls of the designed structure, dividing its facades into transparent (windows) and non-transparent (cladding) fields, guided by selective lighting, privacy, and the attractiveness of the surrounding nature views.
