The Aramoun ISF Practical Training Facility is a US funded project to improve the practical training capabilities of the ISF for their newly designed police training academy which lacked any practical training facilities. Tactical Design worked and collaborated with UK funded organizations, UK government bodies, EU organizations, US organizations, and the ISF to create the new conceptual Master Plan options for Aramoun. Tactical Design worked over a seven month period in Lebanon to help gain the acceptance of the practical training concept and eventually the new conceptual
Master Plan design.
Tactical Design led the design effort and created several options for review by the ISF senior leadership to gain the necessary information and approval for this concept. The planning report included a security threat assessment for the site and placement for the Academy. The option selected and fully endorsed by the ISF Director General was the basis for the subsequent request to the US for assistance to help carry out the design and construction of the practical training village and other practical training facilities at Aaramoun.
Tactical Design went from programming to construction documents in a three month period utilizing local engineers and cost estimators. The facility is comprised of a Forensics Educational Center comprised of Classrooms, Auditorium, Lecture Halls, Administrative Offi ces, serveries, and a mock police station. Since the site receives sporadic power and water only two times a week Tactical Design pushed the passive energy strategies to the platinum level of LEED. The Tactical Village is comprised of over 26 different structures representing different building types found throughout Lebanon. Nestled in the center of the village is an outdoor Gun Range.
