Interior Design for an Apartment in Kalamaria
This family apartment is placed in an apartment building in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, few minutes away from the city center, on a privileged site with an astonishing view towards Saronikos Gulf. The apartment is developed in two levels. In the first level are the entrance, the kitchen, the living room, the dining area, along with a storage room and a WC. The second level rises 3.20m above the first floor and covers the three quarters of the house’s area, leaving an open space that allows the view from the corridors to the living room downstairs. Along the corridors is the the master bedroom with its own bathroom, two children bedrooms, another bathroom and a laundry room. The two levels are communicating via a stair that also leads to the roof garden, with the barbecue, the open kitchen and the exterior sitting area which offers amazing views of the city and the gulf. The architectural concept was the creation of a modern and functional living space. The simple and clean geometrical forms follow the inner arrangement, while the chosen construction materials –white lacquer and wenge wood - provide a minimal, luxurious and elegant feel.
