IndieBi Office design by Nastazja Kropidłowska
SCOPE OF COMMISSIONED WORK
A comprehensive office interior design project, including collaboration on industry- specific designs and supervision of project implementation.
INITIAL SITUATION
A commercial space in developer condition, located on the 13th floor of the HiPiotrkowska office building in the very center of Łódź. The space is well-lit thanks to "window walls" that bring in south-western and northern light, offering a stunning view of the city skyline.
PROCESS/PLAN — SCOPE OF COMPLETED DESIGN WORK
All tasks were carried out in accordance with the initial assumptions. We began by creating mood boards for both the aesthetic concept and materials. Next, we prepared a 3D interior concept incorporating all the project’s assumptions. This was followed by visualizations of the approved concept, a detailed technical design, and a list of furnishings with pricing and suppliers. Finally, we supervised the implementation process and coordinated the work of various contractors.
DESCRIPTION OF ASSUMPTIONS AND GUIDELINES
The primary goal set by the client was to create a home-like workspace that would encourage IT employees (who mostly work remotely) to use the ergonomically
designed office, socialize with colleagues, and take advantage of the local amenities near the office building.
Further objectives included:
• Creating distinct “work” and “chill” zones for both productivity and employee relaxation.
• Offering a variety of workspace configurations.
• Considering the number of workstations and the office’s graphic identity.
• Analyzing solutions that worked or didn’t work in the company’s previous office.
• Enhancing the company’s reputation as a leader in its industry while elevating its standard and appeal to employees.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED SOLUTION — FINAL OUTCOME
Our design team proposed interiors featuring natural materials, soft textures, upholstered furniture in various forms and finishes, and a natural color palette enhanced with bold purple accents (in line with the company’s graphic identity) and holographic materials inspired by the gaming industry.
Chill Zone:
• Contrasting colors and textures.
• A graphite ceiling.
• Soft furniture, including swings, armchairs, sofas, and poufs.
• Features: shared meals in a dining area with a central raised bar, board and console gaming, panoramic city views through binoculars, employee-led hobby workshops, business meetings, and networking opportunities.
• The main conference room, which became the owner’s favorite workspace and a hub for group meetings.
Work Zone:
• Bright color tones and a beige ceiling.
• Workspaces for approximately 30 people in various configurations:
• High and low hot desks (partitioned by curtains).
• Height-adjustable desks.
• Soundproof focus rooms.
• Open spaces naturally divided by enclosed rooms.
• Two smaller conference rooms, each with distinct accent colors.
Shared Elements:
• Coffee points and storage areas for employees’ personal items.
• The company’s brand colors—purple and orange—featured prominently throughout.
• Custom wallpapers designed to match the office’s graphic identity.
Approximately 80% of the finishing and furnishing elements were sourced from Polish manufacturers:
• Decorative and technical lighting, upholstered and office furniture, custom-designed graphic wallpapers, and bespoke woodwork and metalwork.
• The interiors were enriched with live and preserved greenery, adding to the homely feel of the office.
SCOPE OF ADDITIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
• Coordination between various contractors during project implementation.
• Scheduling and managing orders and deliveries.
