Situated in a high-density housing area of the city, this house features a horizontal slit cut through its central section. When moving between the first and second floors, one is exposed to the gap. Light reaches in, wind passes through, and the front yard appears extended. The slit serves as a psychological escape for the typically inward-facing urban dwelling.
Humans need the "outside." A world without an "outside" is enveloped in silence. That's why we aspire to create buildings with gaps. This house represents a modest attempt at that.
