For a natural stone business we have developed a concept for temporary living. This combines both long-term and short-term living solutions (permanent rental/tourist use). Our planning is based on the minimal house concept. The goal was to create 40-60 m² living units, which not only seem almost randomly situated in the floor plan, but also stacked on top of each other in section.
Three-dimensionally connected
The stacking and cubing creates an interesting urban space. The various units are connected three-dimensionally via bridges, staircases, and vertical closures. A varied residential landscape is created. Each cuboid is an apartment. The vertical, towering cuboids contain the semi-public facilities such as restaurant, lake access with bath, sauna tower, childcare and play facilities, library, and work and meeting zones.
Huge building blocks
The entire site is unfenced and car-free - meaning everything can be reached by foot or bike. Parking is available at the edge of the property. With biodiverse greenery between and on the cuboids, the overall appearance from above is somewhat reminiscent of giant building blocks thrown randomly into nature. The cuboids and connecting paths are covered with natural stone slabs in different looks.
