The project is an attempt at re-thinking, in a respectful manner, a small old semi-detached house of generic structure and appearance set in Plovdiv’s Old Town – a historical neighbourhood widely recognized for its local brand of Bulgarian National revival architecture. The decorative fence enveloping the irregularly shaped yard, deeply nested in the hillside, and a sweet-scented fig tree were initially the sole elements that recognizably marked the house’s belonging to its notable setting.
