The Hotel Seehof is Nature Retreat that is nestled among apple orchards and developed around a small lake near Naz-Sciaves, Bressanone.
The project reimagined the façades to unify the building’s various sections and proposed an elevation to crown the hotel with an upper volume. The goals were mainly to connect with the 2017 lake intervention (by Studio Noa*) and minimize the visual impact of the extension while also enhancing contact and integration with the surrounding natural enironment.
The new balconies are defined by architectural elements with structural, functional, and decorative purposes: alternating wooden pillars and faceted niches for small seating areas, provide intimate spaces for outdoor relaxation.
The elevation features are conceived as sequence of fragmented volumes set back from the edge, allowing the creation of private patios and hanging gardens with planted trees, reinforcing the natural transition between interior and exterior spaces.
