The Hotel de la Région is a
fifty-metre-high building of pre-cast concrete and glass, standing at the crossing of the Antigone axis with the
river, rising up like both an end of Antigone axis and a gateway to the larger
Montpellier area. The building contains the administrative political centre of
the French region of Languedoc
– Rousillon. The programme includes a council chamber, reception rooms, meeting
rooms, offices and also apartments for government members.
