This project involved renovating a house built by the wife's grandfather, and the design focused on how to preserve and utilize the wonderful, carefully chosen materials and details from that era, ensuring it could be passed down to the next generation. The wife's studio is located adjacent to the earthen floor area, connecting all the spaces around it, allowing her to sense the presence of her family even while she's working. The renovation itself isn't the end of the story; rather, the process of the house maturing as greenery intertwines, new materials age and blend with the old ones, and the entire house matures becomes an important narrative in itself.
