A design project on the seaside of Vourvourou, Chalkidiki that is consisted of two modern country vacation houses. The houses can remain separated to serve two different families, or be connected by the opening of a sliding separator panel into one house.
The site boundary is literally on the seafront, which gives the tenants the privilege to enjoy a private beach, in a sense, outside their window.
Apart from the privileged proximity to the beach, the house offers a roof patio from where anyone could enjoy the sun and the stunning view. A second patio is located on the rear side of the building, where the people could have a BBQ under the shade and serenity of the project’s garden.
The interior follows a minimalistic expression of the traditional Greek vernacular otherwise dubbed “country chic” style, with simple white surfaces, timber framed openings and stucco finishes. A vast majority of storage spaces can be found in the interior of the building, which although being small boosts the efficiency and the practicality of the space.
