The 19,500 sq. m. eight-storey Cheng Yu Tung Building at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology houses an extensive range of teaching and research facilities, including the State Key Laboratory on Advanced Displays and Optoelectronics Technologies, the Robotics Institute and the WHAT LAB – a laboratory jointly established between HKUST and WeChat to study artificial intelligence.

The building’s open plan and highly flexible spaces are conducive to interdisciplinary research, as is the large-scale multi-purpose lecture theatre which can be used for teaching activities and artistic performances.
