While picking a beautiful fabric for your sofa is important, functionality is also important when decorating a sitting area. Cotton and linen are natural textiles that are softer and work well for custom upholstery, but they are more prone to fading and pilling. Acrylic and nylon are synthetic fibers that are more stain-resistant and durable. The arms and legs of a couch used to embellish a sitting area convey a lot about its design.
