The new spa, 'The Herb House', features extensive roof-top herb planting on a self irrigated green flat roof. The main elevation is detailed into what was an existing garden wall, allowing the building to hide beyond. Internally, over three floors; facilities include an indoor ozone treated swimming pool, internal and external hydrotherapy pool, roof-top gym, yoga studio, sauna, steam room, calderium and rasul, as well as a suite of 8 relaxation lounges and treatment rooms. The Lime Wood Hotel has evolved from the rebuilding of what was Parkhill, following careful master planning by Charles Morris. PWP Architects were commissioned by Carillion as executive architects to detail the main resort, PWP were then further commissioned by Ineos to design and secure a planning consent for a new spa and wellness centre. The exterior architecture was to remain sympathetic to the newly developed campus. The building incorporates a variety of quality natural materials that required good attention to their detailing.
