As a global entertainment brand, HBO attracts the best and brightest in both creative and administrative talent; when TPG designed the new offices for its IT group, they sought a tone and feel that was at once environmentally sensitive, cutting edge, very stylish and referred to the HBO product without being star-struck.
The Executive Vice President in charge of the redesign told TPG that they wanted an open plan, with visibility throughout the large, 28,500 square-foot office; glass partitions were a requirement. HBO staff was engaged through a series of committees that weighed in on technology and workplace needs, integrating the brand identity into the space and ensuring natural touches be introduced to the environment. TPG’s final plan increased staff density as well as added many amenity spaces including small phone rooms, a media lab, informal collaborative seating, a sexy vending area with adjacent ‘rest stop’ for spontaneous gatherings and a high-style café.
