HANATSUKI Moon and Flower Arrangement
It is conveniently located just one minute walk from Kamakura Station. However, there was a situation where there were no tenants in the 2LDK (99m2) for three years, partly because the apartment complex was entered from the back entrance of the commercial facility. The reason for the consultation was from a consultant who had written an article about a private nightclub he had worked on. The owner is having trouble with the lack of occupancy rate for three years, so he asked us if we could turn it into a simple lodging house and turn it into a profit-making project.
concept
In this project, we operated the guesthouse by using the 4th floor of Aiza Kamakura, which is a one-minute walk from Kamakura Station, and obtained a simplified accommodation permit. The first to third floors of Aiza Kamakura are commercial facilities, and the shopping streets of Kamakura, such as Komachi Street, are open to the time of temples and shrines such as Daitokuji Temple and Meigetsuin. In summer, there are some coastal areas such as Yuigahama as a tourist attraction, but I have the impression that Asian tourists from Europe and China are more likely to visit Japanese temples and shrines.
In anticipation of foreign tourists staying here, we felt that it would be good to stay in a space that only exists in Kamakura. I looked around some temples and shrines, but the best temple architecture in Kamakura is Meigetsuin. The Meigetsu-in Temple has a beautiful spatial composition based on the motifs of hydrangeas and other flowers native to Kamakura and the red cloth of the circle and scarlet carpet in a traditional Japanese house.
In the 2LDK, there are two Japanese-style rooms, and the partitions are taken and scarlet carpets are hollowed out to serve as partitions to reproduce the borrowed view of the Myeongetsuin. On the ceiling of the living room, I asked an artist to draw a ceiling painting expressing hydrangea in the image of the Meigetsuin Temple, called the Hydrangea Temple. We asked a flower arranger living in Kamakura-san to place flower arrangements at the back of the partition to recreate a space with a central character in the circle of the partition. In addition to lodging, it is planned to be used as a flower arrangement class and an art gallery, since it is in a good location just one minute walk from Kamakura Station.
