In the heart of Puerto Morelos, just steps from the Caribbean Sea, Greta stands tall as a piece of architecture that seeks to speak the same language as its surroundings: that of the sea, light, and wind.
Its design is based on the concept of “architecture in dialogue with the sea.” Greta does not seek to impose itself, but rather to integrate. Its light volume and strategic orientation allow the sea breeze and natural light to flow through the spaces, creating livable environments that transform throughout the day. The result is an architectural experience that feels alive, changing, in tune with the rhythm of the coastal environment.
Greta proposes an honest architectural language that combines natural materials and contemporary construction techniques. Local stone, chukum, and natural wood provide texture and warmth, aging with dignity in the face of humidity and salinity in the air. This conscious choice responds not only to aesthetics but also to durability and low maintenance, achieving sustainable architecture.
Each space—from the kitchens to the bedrooms—is designed under the premise of functional simplicity and emotional connection.
Natural oak wood dominates the furnishings, while plant-based textiles reinforce the local identity. The interiors are designed as bright and peaceful retreats. The transition between exterior and interior is almost imperceptible: the spaces flow onto spacious terraces with hammocks overlooking the sea, inviting contemplation and relaxation. On the lower levels, the units open onto private gardens where tropical vegetation surrounds small bodies of water that refresh and balance the environment.
In common areas, such as the lobby, handmade ceramic tiles in aqua green tones are integrated, a clear reference to the color of the Caribbean Sea.
At the top of the building, Greta's Roof Garden serves as the culmination of the architectural experience: a space where the gaze merges with the horizon and the body reconnects with nature.
Beyond being a panoramic terrace, this level is conceived as an outdoor wellness platform, where the sea and the jungle become constant companions. The infinity pool faces the Caribbean, reflecting the sky and visually extending the water's surface, while the exercise area opens onto green spaces, offering a natural setting that encourages calm and mindful movement.
Greta represents a subtle way of inhabiting the coastline, avoiding formal excess and opting for serenity. More than just a building facing the sea, it is a conversation between matter and landscape, between the rhythm of the waves and the geometry of architecture. A proposal that reinterprets contemporary coastal life through simplicity, light, and a deep respect for its natural context.
