Between the Walls, a leading interior design studio, proudly presents Gont, a refined cottage project nestled in the picturesque village of Tatariv in western Ukraine. Designed in 2023, this exquisite property seamlessly integrates into the mountain slope, offering breathtaking views of the Carpathians from its expansive terrace. Named after the traditional Carpathian wooden cladding, Gont, the project honors local traditions and harmoniously blends modern architectural forms with the surrounding landscape.
The uniqueness of Gont lies in its ability to integrate modern design into the beauty of the wild nature. The house is surrounded by dense forests, clean air, and authentic Ukrainian charm. Between the Walls studio paid special attention to the use of natural materials in both the architecture and the interior of the house. This reflects the studio's philosophy, which focuses on eco-friendly design and reducing the use of chemicals. Every detail of Gont House reflects a love for nature and a concern for the environment, which are core values of the studio.
The kitchen combines functionality and coziness, with a table for six, built-in kitchen, and a large window with mountain views. Materials include wood for the floor and ceiling, local quartzite countertops, and Ukrainian-made decorative plaster. Wool light fixtures add warmth and unique accents.
In the living room, large windows provide stunning Carpathian views. The space features a modular corner sofa, vintage armchairs, a versatile coffee table from GUSHKA, wooden vases from Tvoї Studio, and a rug from Kononenko ID. A fireplace, log storage, and TV ensure comfort, with design continuity throughout the house.
The bedroom offers rest and rejuvenation with double beds, designer headboards, wardrobes, an FDB Møbler bench, bedside tables, and decor from Ukrainian brands like GUSHKA and Basny Rugs, creating a cozy, tranquil retreat.
The bathroom incorporates modern details such as a sink, mirror, shower, toilet, and a cabinet with appliances. A window adds natural light, while tiles from WOW Sweet Bars ensure aesthetics and durability.
