STATUS
Built
YEAR
2004
Fontanals Golf was founded in 1993, completed as 18 hole golf court (80000 m2) in 1995 and has been considered one of the best 300 Golf Clubs of Europe by Peugeot Golf Guide in 1996. The developments of the Golf Court lead to the clubhouse project.
The building interprets the topography playing with its possible integration into the landscape. The use of materials, construction techniques and organic shape enhance the camouflage appearance of the building. The project insists in the integration with the surroundings by subordinating the built to the topographic, climatic, setting conditions and employing traditional materials, constructive techniques and people. People of the building may have the possibility to disguise themselves and disappear as we had to discover them playing on the light, the land, the existent vegetation, adapting, moving until finding the correct position.
The clubhouse program is divided into two levels. Whereas on the lower floor (sometimes underground) swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, the fitness area, machinery rooms, cloakrooms, storage rooms and other technical spaces are located, in the upper floor great balcony invites the landscape to invade the building. On this level, the restaurant and other big rooms are used by the club members as social areas.
