Procured by Glenstal as micro retreats for prayer and reflection, the ‘pods’ are conceived as being hides straddling the overlap of forest and meadow.
The designs takes inspiration from other compact typologies such as the caravan and yacht, and fuses these into something new. The hermitages are made of natural materials, utilise passive solar energy for light and heat, and are modular in construction. Retreatants will enjoy a delightful, healthful experience afforded by the simplicty of the design, naturalness of materials and the connection to nature.
