International dairy products company Glanbia chose Twin Falls, Idaho for its US Headquarters. The company wanted to attract highly skilled talent and to be a good neighbor and leader in the Twin Falls community. The downtown site within the historic ‘warehouse district’ and a growing urban center influenced the massing and materials selection for the building.

The primary goal was to design an office building that would house all employees in one location and design an innovation center to be a center for research of Glanbia products on the same site. There was a programming need for multiple conferencing types including executive, training, casual, and standing conference rooms. The Office Building has a traditional program with a central core and private offices along the perimeter. Some secondary offices are within the core, allowing open office areas to have ample natural daylight. The project also had a goal of earning LEED CI certification.

An interior design scheme based on a neutral palette with splashes of vivid accent colors (from the company logo) was used to complement the contemporary building design. Furniture products were specified in materials that enhance the interior finishes. Interior signage, art and other details, such as a graphic window film in the company logo, were strategically designed to integrate the entire space. Each space meets a functional need, while addressing a unique company image as a theme.
The 40,060 sf building includes a steel structural frame with a sandstone and brick veneer with metal panel accents. Additional design features include steel canopies that relate to the surrounding warehouse facilities and varied brick colors to provide texture and movement to each façade. Site-specific constraints included the presence of basalt bedrock, which required blasting to remove, and the mitigation of ground water to provide usable basement space.

The project was accomplished on a fast track schedule as part of a design/build team with building contractor Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI).
