This project, in the southern Tasmanian rural township of Geeveston known for its apple and forestry industries, oversees the reuse of a set of 1950s weatherboard buildings. The Geeveston Child and Family Centre provides education for childcare from birth through age 5, focused around family interactions, and supporting health services in an environment both homely and stimulating.
Federally-funded through the Indigenous Early Childhood Development National Partnership Agreement, the purpose of the Child and Family Centers is to improve the learning and care, as well as health and well-being of Tasmania’s very young children by supporting parents and enhancing accessibility of services in the local community.
