What we were asked for is to design accommodations and culture center with fresh feature and contents that no one has ever experienced before. Our initial task was to find the value that this land has. This site is located at the foot of a mountain where it meets valley, and has remarkable scenery and nature that Cheongpyeong Lake on the opposite side is seen. This makes the building to have more reverence to beauty of nature and show its value to everyone. This site also required space for creative meditation and leisurely rest to experience within. Attached building is divided to human scale and placed in harmony to its geographical features. Accommodations are lifted from the ground to minimize deformation and damage to initial landform and are in ring figure to give body to geometric figure which is most alike to nature and have reverence to it. This circular forest rolls down naturally between attached building on the ground and lifted accommodations. And architecture installations are created in circular forest in order to commune with nature in specific and various ways through five senses.
This forest we tried to achieve and restore between attached building and accommodations will affect as creative space for infinite possibilities and communion to experience various relationship to nature, change of lights and landscape.
