Forest rangers brigade
Passive project and eco-building in a Natura 2000 listed site, Sonian forest, Uccle, Belgium.
The building aims both to enrich the landscape and natural environment and to offer a quality workplace in synergy with the environment and its users.
The project settle in a harmonious and high-quality architectural way in the listed natural site of the Sonian Forest and next to existing forest houses.
The project creates a strong landscape relationship with its environment and also allows several functional and pedestrian relations, notably through its careful integration in the site and more particularly in its topography.
The project also aims to create an image and an atmosphere specific to a forest building. The goal is to produce a building naturally inscribed in its forest site, as if it had always been there, a building that seems naturally dedicated to forestry work, whose reading cannot be confused with housing, a shed, a school or offices ... It can thus be created on the one hand, a relationship of belonging and natural identification of users and workers at their place of work, and on the other hand, a taming and appreciation of this new building by its neighbors, but also by the walker, the commuter, the passer-by ..
