The FIFA World Football Museum turns the spotlight on the global phenomenon that is eSports with a new addition to the permanent exhibition. In ‘eFootball: the Virtual Pitch’ visitors discover the eFootball universe through interactive exhibits that showcase video games and tournaments.
Indissoluble was commissioned alongside Mediapro Exhibitions to design and build the new permanent space for the FIFA Museum in Zurich. The visitor is immersed into the world of eFootball, a phenomenon which is growing in popularity every day and which has been chosen as the museum’s main theme.
The exhibition is accompanied by an experience zone where visitors get to test their own eFootball skills in gaming pods, play vintage games and enter the world of virtual reality. Visitors can participate in the Museum’s cultural programme, which offers a diverse range of entertaining events focused on eFootball.
Through different audiovisual installations, visitors are able to see and play the most popular editions of the FIFA game, see how the some of the best players avatars graphics and stats have evolved through “video morphing” (“Avatar evolution”), take a photo with them in the video game (“virtual mirror”), take the path to the FIFA eWorld Cup, thanks to the immersive room “Path to Pro” and even navigate an interactive table where they can learn the secrets of the competitions within the game, its champions and the eSport Universe.
The exhibition also contains a space dedicated to the history of video games, with cases which exhibit the most emblematic pieces, highlighting the iconic FIFA eWorld Cup trophy.
In addition to the permanent area, a temporary space of 300 m2 has been designed for the Museum’s event hall. The space is built for hosting all kinds of activities and events dedicated to the popular video game and eSports, among them will be the virtual championship which will be organized by the museum itself together with FIFA during the second half of 2020.
