The European Union (EU)’s LEED Gold certified, 11-floor workplace in Washington, DC houses offices, meeting and conference spaces, a café, and videoconferencing facilities. The project's lighting design is the winner of an IES Illumination Award.

Upon entering one is greeted by a number of exhibit pieces relating to the EU its history and member nations. A backlit glass wall displays a timeline of key dates and events, and wall-mounted, illuminated glass fins represent EU members’ flags.

The lighting designers worked closely with the Architect on the design of a “mobile ceiling,” which lowers four stories for easy lighting maintenance in the multi-height stair atrium.
