Inaugurated in 1973 and designed by the Minas Gerais-born architect Raul de Lagos Cirne, the Albertão Stadium stands out as an icon of Brutalist architecture on the skyline of Teresina. Over the years, the effects of time deteriorated this emblematic structure, but BCMF Architects saw more than just a stadium in Albertão: they saw an opportunity to reconnect history, functionality, and community.
Using BIM technology, we ensured integration among all complementary projects, covering everything from structural modernization to the reorganization of internal circulation. Every stage of the work aimed to harmonize tradition and innovation: the façade was faithfully restored to its original form, while the internal spaces were reconfigured with modern zoning and standards, elevating Albertão to the level of the world’s major arenas.
Our concept goes beyond football. The stadium is reborn as a multi-purpose complex, integrated with the Albertão Park, where sports, culture, leisure, and commerce coexist in perfect harmony. Tree-lined esplanades invite the public to enjoy the space daily, while new commercial centers and social areas connect the arena to the urban fabric.
More than just a renovation, we deliver a project that celebrates the past and envisions the future—revitalizing the surroundings, promoting urban development, and returning to the population a renewed symbol of identity and pride, a cultural and architectural landmark of Teresina.
