Entremareas, a retail concept dedicated to men’s sports and outdoor apparel, finds its spatial expression in this thoughtfully designed store located within a commercial center on the outskirts of San José, Costa Rica. The project blends functional design with a raw, workshop-inspired aesthetic, crafting a distinctive retail experience that reflects the brand’s adventurous spirit and practical ethos.
The store employs plywood panels as the primary material for its display furniture, lending the space a warm, approachable texture while preserving a utilitarian character. These panels shape shelves, counters, and fixtures, establishing a cohesive visual language that echoes the brand’s focus on natural, durable materials.
Industrial pipes, left intentionally exposed, serve as hanging structures for garments. Their raw, utilitarian aesthetic reinforces the workshop atmosphere, while their strategic placement enhances accessibility and optimizes vertical display potential.
At the center of the space, workbench-style furniture functions as horizontal display surfaces, evoking a sense of craftsmanship and exploration. These pieces invite customers to interact directly with the products, discovering the brand’s layered identity through tactile engagement and thoughtful arrangement.
The ultimate goal of the design was to create a space that embodies the core values of Entremareas: adventure, creativity, and comfort. The atmosphere invites customers to step into a familiar yet inspiring workshop, a place where they can express themselves freely and explore the brand’s world. By blending functionality with emotional resonance, the store transforms the retail experience into something far more meaningful than a simple transaction.
