All three elements of the school-centre expansion—teaching spaces, sports facilities and the after-school care unit—are gathered in a single, compact building set to the north of the existing campus. Each function finds its logical place: a covered playground gives sheltered access to three separate entrances; the semi-submerged double gym hall occupies the ground floor and basement, with a balcony-type foyer overlooking the hall and daylight entering through a large north-facing window that frames the Conthey hillside.
The after-school care unit is attached to the gym. Four sequential activity rooms open eastwards onto the park. The primary school areas sit on top, spanning the full footprint of the gym-and-care plinth. Their layout fosters a lively interior suited to open, collaborative teaching: eight square classrooms line the east and west façades and spill onto broad balcony-corridors. Each classroom takes secondary light from interior patios that punctuate a generous central circulation space. Small breakout rooms also open onto the patios and can be merged with adjacent classrooms via sliding partitions. The central zone offers well-lit sub-spaces for a variety of activities.
Externally, black anodised-aluminium cladding contrasts with the white laminate panels that sheath the timber superstructure, which sits atop the concrete base. Bold accent colours differentiate the various programme areas.
