Context/Program
A 1200 SF long rectangular loft located in the historic landmarked Eagle Warehouse, facing the Brooklyn Bridge.
The open rectangular volume of the loft has inserted into its center a constructed core that contains a kitchen on one side and a bathroom on the other. The bathroom is fragmented by pulling away a freestanding oval shower providing a path through and enclosing the powder room behind a separate door. The kitchen is conceived of as a deep wall and counter. The wall contains all the appliances and storage and is broken only by the window for the sink. The counter is shaped to gather people to it, making a central place for the entire apartment.
