Designed and constructed by Ahmet Tercan and Erdinç Gökmen, the Dülgeroğlu Apartment Building is located in Uşak. The project site is located on the plot of the Dülgeroğlu Villa, which holds a significant place in the city's memory, adjacent to Ata Park, the city's largest park and most important social area. Another notable feature of the location is that it's in the city's cafe and restaurant district. The building's floor plans were designed with the main principle of all apartments facing the park. Consistent with this approach, balconies and transparent façades encircling the floors enhance the connection between users and the park. In addition, many of the trees on the villa site were preserved throughout the construction process. On each floor, the gallery space, which forms the center of the building and around which the apartments are located, extends from the first floor to the roof, and a skylight at the roof ensures it remains bright throughout the day. The high entrance canopy encountered at the building’s entrance wraps around all four façades of the building. This design separates the building facade from the street level, where vehicular and pedestrian traffic is intense, thus increasing privacy. The building was constructed using a reinforced concrete system, with two floors below the basement level and six floors above. The load-bearing system was designed based on the principle of minimum load-bearing elements / maximum span. As a result, the 35 cm thick concrete slab was curved vertically along the perimeter of the building, creating the unique character of the building's facade.
