Located in Taiwan’s original capital, the hotel architecture aims to represent the city’s old charm and cultural spirit. Associated with the concept of quaint neighborhoods and social interaction, we create a vertical village oasis in an urban setting.
Comprised of distinct parts as opposed to the common isolated concrete buildings, Ding hotel is a collection of integrated units.
The lobby, restaurant and 47 rooms, including over 25 types, are divided into three volumes linked by walkways and voids.
The layering of the interior and exterior environment reflects the community connection and a sense of nostalgia from the time when neighbors borrowed sugar or chatted from open windows along the day.
Rather than dark, monolithic corridors, penetrating light and air overflow through the voids, while inviting the users to take a stroll and enjoy the greenery and small social pockets throughout the building levels.
