Well-designed architecture triggers our different senses. It stimulates us with sights, touch and sound. In this way, it brings us familiarity and warmth.
Die Warme holds earth and fire as the primary foundations of human being, creating a warm core in the apartment’s interior. The whole space feels connected to the fireplace – the interior’s most evident source of warmth.
Cosiness is carried across timber-clad, horizontal planes and accentuated by plush carpets. The possibilities of making hard, sharp sounds in the space have been kept to a minimum. And transition spaces – walls and doors – evolved into a unified vertical plane covered in textiles. These spaces now represent moments of subtlety rather than jolting touch.
