Once a legendary club in the 1940s, the Diamond Horseshoe has been brought back to life to host an unprecedented immersive dining and theatrical entertainment experience – Queen of the Night.
Stonehill & Taylor, Meg Sharpe and Douglas Little worked in close collaboration to create a never-before-seen vision that enables the show to take stage, while reviving the space’s decadently sophisticated old-world mystique.
As guests glide down the grand marble staircase they are quickly introduced to a parallel reality. A giant crashed crystal chandelier and distressed walls mark striking moments to prep the audience for to what is to come.
Through the entry doors, detailed with knobs that reach out with casted open palms, the guests are met by a whimsical and opulent world. The space is planned with curves rather than straight lines to give it a sense of motion, radiating from the center’s oval stage. These curvatures are further dramatized by a highly ornamental and decorative ceiling that break the classical mold, complete with domes, trim, a fiber optic starry sky and walls paneled with vintage style mirrors. Tufted luxurious velvet seating snake along the walls in intimate formations, creating a tiered seating venue for diners. Chairs and handrails are upholstered with sensual tiger pattern. Black tables with glass enclosures reveal different curiosities within their drawers to the table’s guests.
Accents overlaid by the set designer add mystery to the space. Giant coral branches that break through birdcages cover columns in the bottom on arches. A wall made of thousands of butterfly and beetle wings greet guests with a hypnotic shimmer. The bar resembles an intricate 19th century distillery with tubes and flasks traveling up the walls and along the ceiling.
