For 2019’s Desert Lights carpet and rug collection, we looked to the patterns in the plants, animals, and geography of the American Southwest, as well as the brilliant hues and subtleties of desert light as it transitions from dawn to dusk. We wanted to imbue this collection with the sense of wellness associated with time spent in the desert. A mix of abstract designs—inspired by canyon surfaces, layers of shale, and undulating patterns in the sand—are juxtaposed with more figurative designs featuring succulents and indigenous animal prints. The mix of colorways, fluidity of the patterns, and organic ambiguity of the prints allows designers the flexibility to add this collection to a range of projects and settings.
Desert Lights is available in three construction methods:
• Tailor Tuft: A custom tufting broadloom machine produces cut-and-loop construction that allows for pile height customization, resulting in plush, detailed, and texturized surfaces.
