To transform a 1990s data centre into a cutting-edge digital media facility that would attract talent from across the globe, Quadrangle started with the basics. What were Deluxe’s corporate culture, work-flow and technical requirements? How would a new design accommodate variances between North American and international styles of film production? Working closely with the client, Quadrangle created a design that opens up three floors of space, substantially increases ceiling heights, and includes a showpiece, 24-foot high Theatre One for screenings. The company’s range of facilities – theatres, production suites, mixing stages, a communal cafeteria and terrace – are planned around a stunning atrium. The result is an open, light-filled and generous layout that caters to a range of functions, from noise sensitive production and editing studios to flexible meeting rooms and common areas. Deluxe’s new offices integrate the studio’s state-of-the-art technological needs into a design that is ideally suited to the firm’s culturally diverse clientele and outstanding commitment to customer service.
